A couple of years ago I did a search for good razors on Amazon and for over two years now, I have bought the Dorco Pace 6. When I saw this new razor approved by Amazon, I guess I had Kirkland quality in mind. I suppose I envisioned that Amazon would not lead me to buy some thing poor. Within 30 seconds of using the first cartridge I realized this is a poor quality product. I don’t have sensitive skin or any problems shaving, and my beard is no more difficult to manage them the average man. I pulled out the Dorko and proceeded to finish the job. A two week old razor performed four times as well as a brand new cartridge of this product. I guess I thought I could return the product since it was an Amazon choice, but I was mistaken in this regard as well.
I am a little torn on this razor. For years I've used a Gillette razor. The price for those has gotten a little ridiculous, so I bkught this razor. While the shave itself is pretty close, the experience was rough. It felt like the blade was pulling the hair out if my face, instead of shaving it off. I thought maybe it was me going against the grain, so I made sure to go with the grain and use shorter strokes. Not too much better from a comfort stand point. Amazon needs to figure how to make it so the blades don't pull the hair out.
Just got my razors in. Very nice shave for my legs. I shave every day so I’m hoping these razors will live up to many other brands. Also hoping the handle bar doesn’t get to tarnished over time. So far as of now very happy with my purchase.
I've been a Gillette Fusion user for years but was a little unhappy with how often I had to replace the razor and felt like the quality has gone down. Thought I would give these a try since they are priced much cheaper than Gillette refill carts and had decent reviews. Unfortunately, it was very obvious that I got a closer shave (and less nicks) from the Fusion razors after the very first shave with these. I'd rather pay the extra money for a better and more comfortable shave. 3 stars for the price and for the money back guarantee, but these were not for me.
I don't ordinarily write reviews, but in this case, I feel like I must. I've been shaving my head and body, by choice - not necessity - for decades, now, and the Solimo 5-Blade is the best I've used in years. I started out with a Gillette 2-Blade years ago; then 3 years after that; switched to Schick 4-Blade, and then back to Gillette 5-Blade.Interestingly enough, I was looking for a scentless shaving cream and decided on the Silomo version (FYI: also a great product!). Their 5-Blade razor was a suggested product. I needed new blades for my Gillette anyway, but was looking to save a little money, so I decided to try the Silomo system. Best purchase and closest, nickless shave I've had in years.A little side note...I'm a Black dude and although I don't suffer from razor bumps, I don't imagine this razor contributing to that issue. I got a smooth shave with fewer strokes than with my old Gillette.In any case, I would HIGHLY recommend the Silomo 5-Blade shaver (and their scentless shaving cream) for any dude on the fence about buying it. For me - it was definitely worth it!Also, Bezos - hit me up if you read this, cause I would definitely do an ad for it - !
The price is great for these razors but they fall short in the quality and effectiveness departments. I have been using Swipe Razors (same blades sold by Dollar Shave Club) for the past couple of years and decided to give these blades a try. The handle is not as nice or heavy as the Swipe handles but more importantly the blades do not do as good of a job of shaving. I am finding myself having to make several passes to get all my wiskars cut off with these blades.
This is really a great value blade. the shave is pretty close to perfect. I went from Gillete to Dorco to this one. I am sure you will not be disappointed. give it a try.
Too many nicks and near nicks, yet not a close shave- more of a shadow at end of day. The gel strip is gooey and gross. Back to Gillette- the higher cost is worth it.
As most men one of our inexpensive ways to “treat” ourselves is to try the latest and greatest shave system. It is a way to indulge and not spend a fortune. It is something we use everyday so having something that we can use and enjoy is fun especially nowadays when a shave can cost a small fortune. I do like the premium brands but give me a break. They are a ripoff and you know it. I tried this amazon brand and was so pleased with the product I ordered 2 more just to make sure I didn’t run out. I use each blade for up to 10 days and even the last shave is almost a good as the first. I give this product the highest rating. I have a pretty heavy beard so I shave daily. I cannot tell you what a pleasure it is to use this product. I actually look forward each morning to get a shave that leaves me feeling clean and smooth. No nicks or razor burn. Just a baby’s but shave and my wife loves it. Don’t toss the high price stuff but try this one and see what you think. I will never buy those crazy expensive systems again.
What a waste of money. I hate this blade. I shave 2-3 times a week. The lubricant band is just rubber. It does not glide. You have to use to much force to even get the blade to glide on your face. If you think using shaving cream as a lubricant, good luck. There is nothing good about what I just purchased. I thought I would give it a good month, but I cant even wait that long. I wish there was 1 thing good about the Solimo, but I just cant. I rather just keep my norelco, at least it gives me a closer shave and glides a lot better.
I almost didn't buy this because it said it used five blades. I mean really? Why would a razor need 5 blades. I could only imagine the tremendous drag on my face when I was pulling the razor across it. well it does feel like you're pulling your credit card across your face, I was pleasantly surprised that it's not that bad. And it does cut very good. The shave is close and I didn't have any pulls or nicks or issues with it. I'm going to see how long a blade cartridge last now and this actually could be my new best razor.
I really love the closeness of the shave this gives me. As good or better than any comparable razor, plus you get a abundance of replacements. A customer from now on 😁
Been fighting paying for expensive razors for years. Tried dollar shave club, tried a variety of cheap disposables, and finally thought I’d give these a shot. Awful. Tore my face up. I finally raised the white flag and went back to Gillette fusion. Just shaved. Wow. Again, you get what you pay for. What a difference.
